About our Family Days

Our family days have been running each year since 2013 in Leeds and 2014 in London and in the South West.

The days are open to all young people and their families who are currently being seen at GIDS.

The aim of the events is to allow young people and their families to meet each other in a relaxed and friendly environment. There will be talks from people who identify in different genders. There will also be group sessions for parents/carers, 11-18 year olds who attend the service, under 11 year olds, and siblings.

The 2017 South West Family Day is on Friday, 11th August in Exeter. Due to limited space, this event is only open to young people and their families who are seen at our South West outreach clinics. Please contact us for further information and to let us know if you are planning to attend.

The 2018 Leeds Family Day is on Wednesday, 29th August from 13:00 to 17:00 at the Carriageworks Theatre on Millennium Square in central Leeds (map).

Registration starts at 12:30 and tea, coffee and juice will be served. The day will start at 1 pm prompt so please arrive on time.

Please contact us to let us know if you are coming.

The 2017 London Family Day was on Monday, 7th August 2017. We were joined by three speakers with a range of different gender identities and journeys.

More information about the next London Family Day will be available in Spring 2018.
