Tell us about your role

I'm a psychologist (having studied for a two-year MSc in Clinical and Community Psychology as well as doing a PhD). Outside of GIDS, I am mainly based at the Department of Psychology at the University of Torino in Italy. I work clinically with gender variant youth and their families, as well as doing research too, mainly focused on gender identity and psychological wellbeing.

Why did you want to work in GIDS?

Well, there are two main reasons: first, I was really interested in working with gender variant children and adolescents and their families; and second, I think international cooperation in research is essential to improve and exchange knowledge on how to promote wellbeing.

Do you have a favourite animal and do you have any pets?

I couldn't say that I have a favourite animal – all animals are special. I live with two cats, Lilla and Pascal!

What is your favourite book or children's book?

Here are two of my favourite quotes from 'The Little Prince' by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry:

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

“Grown-ups never understand anything by themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them”
