Dr Ashley Miller

Clinical Psychologist

GIDS London

Where have you worked outside of GIDS?

I’ve previously worked with children and young people in the Fostering, Adoption and Kinship Care team at the Tavistock and in a residential home. I’ve also worked in a child and adolescent mental health service in Camden and in Paediatrics. Additionally, I’ve worked with adults in a psychological therapies service and in a Traumatic Stress service. When not at GIDS I teach and provide supervision.

What do enjoy most about working in this service?

I really enjoy working collaboratively with  young people and their families in the GIDS. I very much appreciate the strengths, skills and resources that families and young people bring and I am impressed by their courage, resilience and coping in the face of difficulties. I am also impressed  by the way families and young people negotiate some of the obstacles they encounter and  the way they  find the journey that’s right for them.
