Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
Tell us about your role?
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. This means that I am trained to carefully observe a child or young person and respond to what they might be communicating through their behaviour and play. As a child psychotherapist I can help the child to make sense of their own experience and develop their own individuality and potential. I may see a child or young person individually, in a group with other children or young people or with parents or other family members. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, I also support other professionals from a range of settings and help them to make sense of the child's behaviour.
Do you also work anywhere else apart from in GIDS?
Alongside my clinical role I am also a visiting lecturer and tutor here at the Tavistock Clinic.
