Fiona Lambert

Trainee Clinical Psychologist, Leeds base

What is your role at GIDS?

I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist in my final year of training. I decided to come to GIDS for my final placement, and I work with the Leeds team 3 or 4 days per week. When I am not at GIDS, I am studying and conducting research at University.

Where else have you worked?

Most of my work experience has been with young people and families. Before starting Clinical Psychology training, I worked on a research project for 5 years exploring the most helpful ways of supporting young people who self-harm. During my second year of training, I had had a year-long placement in CAMHS supporting young people with and without Learning Disabilities. I have also worked in an Adult Autism Service, a Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults, and an Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service delivering psychological therapies.

Do you have any pets?

Unfortunately not, but I have grown up with boxer dogs (2 have been rescue dogs), and one day hope to have my own boxer dog at home!

What are your interests?

I enjoy being outdoors and going for walks in the Yorkshire countryside. I also love travelling, and try to visit a new place each year.
