Tell us about your role..

I’m a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and the Leeds team Manager. I was responsible for setting up the Leeds part of the service in February 2012.

I have a degree in Psychology and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology and also have a postgraduate certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Where did you work before joining GIDS?

Prior to working in the GIDS team I spent 13 years at St James’s University Hospital in Leeds working with young people born with physical differences in their sex development (previously known as intersex). I also spent a number of years working as a Paediatric Psychologist across the hospital with children with chronic medical conditions.

I also worked for 3 years in an adult mental health team in York in the past.

Do you have a favourite animal? And do you have any pets?

I love most animals (apart from rodents) and have 2 pet cats (Lulu & Lola) which unfortunately I am allergic to!

Do you have a favourite type of music?

I love R & B and ‘Old Skool’ soul.

What is your favourite children's book?

I enjoyed reading all the Roald Dahl books and my favourite is the BFG.

Do you have a favourite time of year?

I am definitely a summer person as I love to feel warm and to spend more time outside. I especially like going for walks in the countryside or to spend time at the beach.
